Kathryn Samirah Millard is an award winning artist living and working in Northland, New Zealand. Shown by galleries on several continents and now here in New Zealand.
She received her Diploma in Fine Art, Painting, from the City and Guilds of London Art School.
After college Kathryn was chosen by Sir Brinsley Ford to be included in his personal collection of artwork shown at the The Discerning Eye Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London. Besides showing the work of "established artists" his chief reason for participating in the exhibition was to give him the opportunity to include the work of a number of promising young artists.
Kathryn has cruised extensively, from the Uk and Europe to the Caribbean; America to Panama; the Galapagos across the Pacific to Tonga and Fiji and ultimately into Opua, Bay of Islands, New Zealand.
She is a current member and the Northern representative of PANZ (pastel artists of New Zealand).
Kathryn is a regular contributor to The New Zealand Artist magazine, writing "Pastel Pieces". About all things pastel and more.
September 2018 Joined Reyburn House Gallery as a committee member and has helped instigate a Gallery paint-over.

"My passion as an artist is for color, dynamic rhythm, creative composition and the play of light. Landscape is the arena in which I explore these things. I often find inspiration in nature; drawing and painting directly outside helps me to bring back to the studio some of the energy and freshness to be found there."
"I think it is important to remember that painters create from the imagination fed by the direct experience of the environment we find ourselves in. My concern is not for a photographic rendition, I paint to convey a mood, a feeling, to put down on paper the poetry of the moment, it is in essence an emotional response".
